Thirty years of marriage deserves somewhere special to celebrate. For Darren and Janet, their anniversary escape brought them to Edge Luxury Villas, where a winding gravel driveway, a private lakeside villa and the peaceful surrounds of Wilyabrup created the perfect setting to slow down and simply enjoy being together.

From the moment they arrived, it was the sense of discovery that stayed with them.

After passing through the classic wrought iron gates, the gravel driveway winds gently through the property before the four villas gradually come into view. Beautifully maintained gardens frame the path to each private entrance, but it was what waited inside that truly took their breath away.

Stepping into their villa, Darren and Janet were immediately greeted by sweeping views across the lake, surrounding trees and the striking bridge arching towards the small island.

Opening the almost floor-to-ceiling double-glazed doors extended the villa onto their private deck, creating a peaceful place to sit and watch the changing landscape and local wildlife.

Despite the four villas sharing this beautiful lakeside setting, Darren and Janet were struck by just how private their stay felt. The positioning of each villa, enclosed deck areas and thoughtful acoustic design allow couples to retreat into their own little corner of the property, without seeing or hearing their neighbours.

As Darren described it, the experience quickly became about having their own private view of the surroundings.

Thoughtful Design, From the Fireplace to the Bath

Inside, the same attention to detail continued.

Polished concrete floors lead through the open-plan living space, with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and intimate dining setting for two. A few steps above sits the bedroom and its king-size bed, complemented by a beautifully integrated bedhead, panelled wall and walk-in wardrobe.

Between the bedroom and living area, the wood fireplace creates a warm focal point without interrupting the views beyond the villa.

Then there is the bathroom.

A spacious wet area brings together a rainfall shower and freestanding bath positioned so guests can soak while looking across the lake, turning something as simple as a bath into part of the Edge experience.

For Darren, it was the combination of these individual details that made the biggest impression:
